Living with Wrigley

Living with a Great Dane is wonderful, except for the drooling-which you get over pretty quickly! I love to watch the way that Wrigley tries to fit in small spaces, play with little dogs, and in this case get some love from his daddy no matter what it takes!

From the front...
and from the back...

You can't help but laugh when this big ugg comes up to your face and wants some lovin' and some "ear"! (he loves to lick and sniff ears!)  He is a big love muffin and we love him more and more every day!

Hope veryone has a wonderful Halloween weekend!

Spooky Face

This week, the hubs and I finally got around to carving our pumpkin.  We have had it for over a week now and had all intentions of carving it sooner until we came in to find that Wrigley man decided to eat, yes eat the entire stump, handle, root, whatever you call it, off! :)  Yes you can tell we are still trying to leave him out, but it's not everyday that you have a pumpkin in your living room floor taunting your poor pup, so I consider this still a win for the books!
We carved the Grim Reeper on our pumpkin and I really like it!  I think Wrigley likes it too! :)

Our little family...not our best looks , but it's a tradition.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

Weekend Recap..and oh, by the way Auburn is #1!!!!!!!!

I am seriously slacking on this past weekends activities but I have an excuse this time..I have been putting together our halloween costumes!  I think we have it finalized now and I really think it will be fun!  We are going as Beetlejuice and Lydia-I will be sporting my mothers old wedding dress (slight changes made to it) that is P-E-R-F-E-C-T-L-Y hideous for this little project! (don't worry it wasn't for her wedding to my papa, just a little brain fart when she was young!)

Anyways, on to this past weekend and the game that lead to my Auburn Tigers being ranked #1 in the BCS polls!

Friday night we went to eat with our friends Matt and Jess and Phoenix and Oj and Walker to Frontera-can you tell we love us some Mexican food?!) Then we headed over to hang out with some of Birmingham's finest at the good ol' Birmignham Race Track to bet on some dogs!  Noone came out a millionaire so we called it a night!

Saturday, we went to Oj and Phoenix's house to watch Auburn vs LSwho, oh I mean LSU. :)  Auburn won 24-17 thanks to our man Cam!  He is such a great guy by the way...

Anyways, here is major picture overload for your viewing pleasure!

Trouble...
Mere and Benny
Yeah, not so sure what's happening here...probably has something to do with what's in OJ's left hand-just a guess! :)
Jess, Mere and I trying to take a goofy picture and obviously I'm not the best photographer...
The hubs excited about the game...
OJ excited about the game...
everyone excited about the game! :)
"All we do is win, win, win, no matter what..."
Me and my zumba girl, Mel! :)
My girls...always!
And...the cutest couple ever! :)

War Damn Eagle!
Let's pray we can pull another one out this weekend against Ole Miss!  Pray!

"Chow Down Around Town"-Village Tavern

This Wednesday night we had another round of "Chow Down Around Town" where we visited Village Tavern at the Summit.  Even though they don't offer any sort of Happy Hour as far as food goes, they do have half off wine on Wednesdays and that was enough for us! :)  Best hot crab dip ever and their French Onion soup was to die for-thanks Jess for letting me taste-test! We had a smaller crowd this time around but it was still just as much fun and wonderful timing for yours truly as far as needing both a glass of wine (or 3) and some much needed chill time! I had to call it a somewhat early night since the hubs had to be at work at 2:00AM-yeah I know, ridiculous...but here are some pics from the evening! Enjoy!

Bethany, Yours Truly, Jess, Phoenix, Angela, Jenn, Maria, Mere, Andrea

Where will we go next? :)

Weekend Recap

Friday night the hubs and I took it easy....we ate at one of my fav places ever..Munoz, watched a movie and called it a night.  We're old, I know!   I do want to brag for a moment about our good little man-so we are s-l-o-w-l-y trying to train Wrigley to stay out of his crate for good so that we can always leave him out rather than lock him up all day/night.  We tried this about a year ago and he started out doing really well every time we left him out and then out of the blue this happened...

and that was the end of our first training attempt. :)

So now that little man is a little bit older, we thought we would slowly try it again.  We have only left him out twice for about an hour and a half each this week (Friday night being one of those nights) and we are happy to say that he did great!  He complains (barks)for a few minutes after we close the door but then apparently  goes to sleep on the couch afterwards! Now I know that I have just jinxed us and he will probably eat our couch next but hopefully that won't happen and he will be a good little man and get can get rid of that ginormous crate some day!

Wow I got a little off the beaten path there for a second-on to this past weekend....

Saturday morning we headed over to my bro and sis in law's house to watch the Auburn game.  We had such a good time hanging out with them, plus I got a real dose of reality when I had both of the boys for a while by myself!  Not going to lie, it really wasn't  bad at all and they are such good boys and so much fun to be with!

Just b/c I thought this was a sweet picture...

Our Auburn Tigers pulled out another win against Arkansas 65-43, putting us 7-0 for the season so far and ranked #4 in the nation!  Way to go boys!!! WDE!!!
After the AU game, we headed over to Ben and Mere's house to watch the Alabama vs Ole Miss game and hang out with everybody.  We had a good time over there and it was good to see everyone.

No we didn't plan the striped/white pattern for this picture, but it did turn out kind of cute!
Hope everyone else had a fab weekend too!

**Also I will try to post more pictures whenever I can get blogger to cooperate with me and let me post more than one picture at a time!

Question

I have been trying to upload pictures for 2 days now and it will let me upload one picture and nothing after that...is there something I don't know or is there just a problem with blogger right now?  Since I only have like 4 readers, this question is really just more to vent my frustrations more than anything and hope that it will work itself out.  :)

It's Fall Ya'll!

Coming from a southern girl who loves her some summertime weather, I am kind of excited about fall because with fall comes, college football (I know we are well underway with this one), holidays, spiced pumpkin candles, boots and scarves, halloween parties (I love me a good costume party!) and it begins the countdown to my favorite time of year....Christmas! I have already started my Christmas shopping and am getting really excited about what I have gotten so far!
As you know, we have a new little one (our nephew-no we do not have any news yet mom!) to buy for this year and even though I know little Cohen is completely unaware of what is going on, I am super stoked to see his reaction to everything! ;)

Even though it is the middle of October and I know that we are a little behind, I am hoping that we will be able to get all of our fall decorations out this weekend and hopefully carve a pumpkin too!

Also we have got to finalize our Halloween costumes for this year.  Now I swore last year that I would never again dress up witht he hubs b/c his lack of enthusiasm these past 2 years has been underwhelming to say the very least and our costumes have suffered!  I grew up in a house where you dressed up regardless of age every year no.matter.what!  In other words there has never been a year that I haven't dressed up and I don't plan on stopping now!  I have quite a few ideas I've been brewing up (no pun intended!) but do you have any suggestions?
And just because I think every post needs a picture...I leave you with this handsome little buddy! :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be back next week, I promise....just been one of those weeks for me. :)

Nolan Stowe Pair Memorial Fund

A few months ago I asked you to pray for some dear friends of ours who were having some complications with their first pregnancy.  Well unfortunately they lost the little one a few weeks later.  We are all devastated and can't imagine what they have been going through and will continue to go through.

Phoenix and I came up with the idea of donating to an organization in the little ones name to honor him and let our dear friends Shane and Andrea know that we love them and care about them deeply.  We chose The Amelia Center, which is a grief counseling center that provides counseling and support to those who have lost a loved one as well as training and education to churches, schools and businesses.  Friends and family donated and not only did we meet our goal of $500, but we exceeded it by collecting $1200!!

Last night a few close friends and family met at Andrea's moms house so that we could present this donation to them. (This was a total suprise to them by the way)  They were truly touched and I think a little bit relieved in a sense that it was all out in the open and they knew that we support them and acknowledge what they have been through.  I'm not sure if there was a dry eye in the house and I think everyone was ok with that.  It was kind of cool to see some of our closest friends come together for 2 of our favorite people.  I hope that one day when we are all old and gray that we will look back on this experience and still be just as supportive and loving of each other as we were last night! :)

Cindy's Birthday Party

This past Sunday we had my mother in laws birthday party at our cousin Bridget and Kyle's house.  They had sandwiches and snacks and I was in charge of the cupcakes-red velvet! :) It was so good to see everyone and to get Cindy out for a bit!  One of the best parts was being able to hang out with these little guys...
Hunter man!
and Cohen-he is getting so big!  Such a chunk!
Brad being Brad-when I asked for a family photo, this is what I got!
The birthday girl and all her boys!
I am hoping to get more pictures and a family photo of everyone on this side of the family someday but that may be a challenge.  :)
Thanks again to Bridget and Kyle for having us in their new home and HAPPY BIRTHDAY again to Cindy...we hope you enjoyed everything!

Megan's Bachelorette Party-Birmingham Style!

This past Friday night we headed out to Rogue Tavern to begin the celebration!  This is a super cool place with an awesome little patio area, live music and some pretty phenomenal burgers!  The band that was playing that night was not great but the music in between the breaks was fun! :)  We hung around for a while and then made our way to Above-a bar on the rooftop of the Redmont Hotel.  It was a fun night and I am so glad that I got to celebrate this special time with Megan before she becomes Mrs. Coleman!  Thank you Megan for letting us take you out on the town!
The whole group-Cassie, yours truly, Phoenix, Elena, Bethany, Mere, The Bride to be, and Jess
The first of many shots...
After a few of said shots...
Just so that you don't think I'm a total weirdo, we made a bet to see how many times we thought Megan would let out with a yell and Phoenix guessed 4 times and as we were taking this pic, Megan let out with #4! :)
Enjoying the awful band....
At Above...

Congrats again Megan...the countdown is on! :)

Watch out Birmingham...

because we are taking this lovely lady out tonight for her bachelorette party!
Nick and Megan's wedding is just around the corner now and we have claimed this weekend as their last fling before their rings!
The boys are headed to Philidelphia, MS to play some golf and gamble their little hearts out while the ladies will be keeping it real on the homefront and seeing what Birmingham has to offer! I am so excited to take Megan out and celebrate her upcoming nuptuals since it is less than a month away now....wow! :)  I will be back with a full rundown of our girls evening and more on Monday!

Have a great weekend!
