Thank you 2010

2010 was such a good year!  Not for any one particular reason, but simply for all of the little things that we were able to experience throughout the year. I am so grateful that we were able to take part in life's offerings with the ones that we love most and I look forward to what 2011 has in store for us!

Just a few things that I am so thankful for 2010:
-celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversay (60 more to go honey!)
-my parents celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary
-another year of being parents to Wrigley (hey, it counts!)
-watching numerous friends tie the knot and being able to celebrate that amazing time with them

-our cruise with 2 of the best couples in the world and made lifelong memories
-watching one of my nearest and dearest become a mommy (still can't believe Tiff's a mom-so weird!)
-watching our Auburn Tigers in an unbelievable undefeated season and on our way to the National Championship on Jan 10th! (War Eagle!)
-welcoming another precious nephew into this world
-celebrating the hubs 10 year highschool reunion

I could go on forever but I will spare you!  Like I said before I can't wait for the new year and to see where it takes us.  I hope that everyone will have an even better year in 2011 and don't forget the great times in  2010!

Happy New Year!

I told you so...

This is exactly what I told my wonderful husband yesterday afternoon when I got home from work and here's why...

A few months ago we bought Wrigley a bigger bed since he had outgrown the other one.  (another joy of owning a Great Dane!) Anyways, Mitch had asked me a couple of times if I thought we should put his old bed in his crate with him to give him something soft to lay on and keep him warm.  I told him that I DID NOT THINK IT WOULd BE A GOOD IDEA b/c Wrigley tends to "unstuff/kill" anything that we leave in his crate with him-no matter what it is or how much he loves it.

Apparently the hubs didn't take my advice and decided to put his bed in his crate yesterday while he went to Oj's to kill zombie's (aka play Call of Duty).

and here is the result...

::enter blog post title here:::

The hubs is going to kill me for these next few but he'll get over it....he loves me!

(hhmmm...not a bad idea for naughty hubby's either...note to self)

Wrigley wondering why daddy drove him to "kill" his bed...

Maybe next time the hubs will listen to me and he won't end up in the dog house crate again! :)

Love you babe!

Christmas Weekend Festivities

It seems like I always need a day or two to recover from all of the Christmas festivities every year b/c we are non stop the whole time!  Don't get me wrong, I love that we have people to see and celerate this wonderful time with, but it can wear a girl out!

Christmas Eve we went to Brent, AL to Mitch's dad's house around lunch time to hang out with that whole side of the family.  We exchanged some gifts, ate some lunch and just hung out with everyone since we don't get to see them nearly as much as we would like.

That night we made our way over to Brenda and Russell's house for some more food, family and presents...

Cindy with the Thompson's (minus yours truly)
Cohen is teething-can you tell? He will put ANYTHING in his mouth these days! :)
Robbie and Cindy (in laws)
A very handsome couple
Proud Aunt and Uncle
The other Thompsons

Christmas morning we woke up to a "white Christmas" for the first time here in Alabama in forever!  I never got any pictures sadly but it was so nice and def added to the Christmas spirit for sure! Mitch and I opened our gifts from each other and then made our way to my parents house for some more gifts and the best part...breakfast casserole!  We made another stop at his Aunt Anne's house for a while before heading back to the house so that the boys could play with their new toys!

That night we had my parents and brother come over as well as Brad, Julie and the boys for a little more gifts food and maybe a competitive game or 2 of bocce ball on the PlayStation Move! :)

Funny story-Hunter got this shirt on Christmas Eve as a gift at Mitch's dad's house and Mitch and I had gotten the same shirt for Brad!  I thought it was a cute picture...can't you tell Brad loves taking pictures?! :)
My parents with their granddog!
Wrigley posing by his Christmas tree (on a side note: my bow on the tree looks extremely dinky now that I look at it in pictures-we'll have to fix that next year for sure!)

Sunday we didn't even get out of our pj's all day long and it was wonderful after a full weekend of going non stop!

I hope that everyone had as wonderful a Christmas as we did...
(possible Christmas card for 2011!)

My apologies for the picture overload-I'm really loving my camera these days!

Merry Christmas!!

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and I hope that everyone has a wonderful time making lasting memories with their loved ones!  Even though Christmas may not feel the same as it did when we were kids, it still gives me a warm and fuzzy to have everyone all together and to cherish these times no matter what is going on in your lives.  From our family to yours...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be back next week after our Christmas festivities for a recap!  Everyone be safe and have fun!

What are the odds

that I would get sick just days before Christmas?  Well I am and I feel like poop to be quite honest!  I woke up yesterday morning with a scratchy throat and a stuffy nose, but nothing I couldn't handle.  Then last night I got even worse and even with Nyquil couldn't sleep b/c I felt like I was suffocating and now I'm too the point where I want to chop my head off to just stop the madness!

I am stuck at work with the rest of the skeleton crew as usual during the holiday season and normally I don't mind b/c I actually prefer it quiet and less people, but today is like torture.  Well not really torture but you know where I'm going with this.

I am praying that I will feel better by tomorrow and that today is the worst of it...pray for me (and for my sweet hubby who has to put up with me and take care of me when I get whiney!)

It's Christmas Time!

If you didn't already know!  I know that I am kind of behind on posting anything about Christmas seeing as how it is only 4 days away now, but oh well.  Here are a few pictures of our Christmas decorations at the Thompson house.

Our Christmas card this year
We  I made them on Shutterfly and they were super easy!  They had a ton of designs to choose from and uploading the pictures was a cinch!  I think they turned out pretty cute, what do you think?

Our tree-we have some garland to go on it also but we remembered a little too late this year-there's always next year!

My little Santa hats I made (I still don't have the puffs for the top yet but I'll get them soon enough)-I got the idea from here if you want to go check it out...fairly easy to do and I think they turned out very cute and different!
Our mantle along with Wrigley's toy box that I was apparently too lazy to move out of the picture...
My wreath I made...can you tell I have been in a crafty mood lately?! :)
Our many Christmas cards...one of my other fav parts about this time of year!

And of course Wrigley with one of his Christmas toys-he loves his toys so much, he sleeps with them!
And he loves to help me wrap presents too!  (please don't mind the outfit or the hair!)

Wishing everyone a very
Merry Christmas!

Wacky Weekend Wrap Up

I hope everyone had a great weekend....we sure did, but it was def a busy one to say the least!
Friday I took off work so that me and the moms could do a little Christmas shopping.  We by no means finished but I think we got a lot done and had a lot of fun just hanging out.  We don't get to do that nearly as much as I would like!  Friday night, we met a group of friends for some pizza and delicious bruschetta at Mafiozo's and then made our way to BWW.  It was a kind of relaxed night but still fun.

Our men folk...
Yours Truly, Kara and some poor guy who was trying to get out of the picture and miserably failed...
Saturday was an awesome day!  It started off with a lunch date at one of our fav Chinese restaurants, The Palace and then the hubs surprised me with tickets to go see this...

and it was AWESOME!
First of all I love any live performance and have grown up on them, but to see one of my childhood favs, was even better!  The hubs earned some major bonus points by first of all surprising me with tickets and then to go voluntarily was even better.  This was his first live performance and I think he was a little unsure what to expect but I think he was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it maybe more than he wants to let on.  :)     Afterwards, we did a little bit more Christmas shopping and called it a VERY early night.  Thanks again babe for an amazing day-you sure know how to spoil a girl and I love you for it! :)

Sunday we went to my parents house for one of my favorite Christmas traditions of decorating their tree.  Yes I know, they are a little late this year, but at least they got one up, right? :) (side note: Funny thing-my mom was all excited that b/c they got their tree for 40% off-I was like "mom, it is only a week before Christmas, you're lucky you didnt' get it for free!"  My parents just do things a little different but you gotta love them anyways!)

My attempt at being an artsy-fartsy photog...

After we finished decorating the tree, we met up with some of my besties who live out of town...
Our handsome men

The whole gang at Applebee's on a Sunday night-yep, we're cool like that! (sorry Ash-didn't see that Tony's eyes were closed until I went to post this)

These are the ones who left me and went to live in far away places and come back home to tell me about it! :)  It was so good to see them and have some time to catch up and hang out...it's really one of my favorite things about the holidays!  It was so good to see you lovely ladies...I miss you and need you to move back home now...enough playing around the country! Love you girls!
