Wrigley's World

I thought I would give you a little update on our first born and how he is doing.
Wrigley went last week for his annual exam and vaccinations-the dr was very pleased with how he looks and how healthy he is now. We have had him on the Prednisone since April and have been able to cut back his dosage to just a very minimal dose 2 days a week. He weighs 140lbs and is eating (and pooping) regualrly now.  He is still in solitary confinement but we are hopeful that he will be able to work his way back out to civilization soon.

He is obsessed with Gatorade bottles and will stare you down until you give it to him.
The object of the game is to get the top off as quickly as possible,
make as much noise as possible by hurling the bottle into the air
then time for a nap!

He is still such a snugglie bear though and we love him!

How many takes

does it take to get a decent picture with my hubby?!?
turn around and smile!
whats that in your mouth?
almost there, just looks like I'm forcing it too much (so what if I was)
not sure...
there we go...still not great, but I gave up trying! ;)

** also, I am very intrigued with what Phoenix is talking about-looks serious! :)

He finally did it

The hubs finally ordered a sushi meal by himself for his meal and ate it!

You have no idea how hard I have tried these last few years to get him to eat sushi and it finally paid off.  I will pretty much eat anything (except mushrooms and in some rare cases I will eat those) but the hubs on the other hand is a bit more difficult.

How did I do it you ask?
Get a few beers in him on the patio at Cajun Steamer and then go meet our friends Mere and Ben at the new sushi place in Trussville, Rock N Roll Sushi of course! :)

I didn't take any pictures, but we had the best time just hanging out and chit chatting away with them.  We haven't had a double date night with them in a while and it was really nice!

Saturday we went to Bethany and Miller's house to enjoy their newly renovated backyard/deck and watch some football.  We enjoyed some delish burgers and snacks and the perfect fall weather blowing in.  :0

Burton apparently didn't want to be in the pic...

Sunday afternoon we were invited to a couples baby shower for our AU friends, Cassie and Tolbert, who are expecting baby Parker in 6 short weeks. :)

(not the best angle, but I was too lazy to get up)

Hope you week is going great! :)

Football, football, football

A few weekends back, we went to Hunter's first football game in Hayden and later went to the bro and sis in law's house to celebrate Brad's birthday.
Let me tell you, watching 7year olds play football (in full pads) is about the funniest thing I've seen in  a while.  Attempting to tackle and stiff-arm each other is just too much!

I love this picture of them...and no they didn't plan to match, but they always end up wearing similar things :)
Cohen mean-muggin' his Uncle Mitch

Hunter's game ended in just enough time for us to make it back to Brad and Julie's house to watch AU beat Mississippi State.  The boys are growing up so much every time we see them that I wish we could just stop time for a bit and have them stay at this age. :)

Brad and Julie
Cohen has finally learned how to get on the sofa by himself now
Proud aunt and uncle

Obviously lovin' my iphone camera too!

Back from my blog funk

Part of the reason for my lack of blogging lately, besides the fact that my boss actually expects me to work  which is seriously impedding on my blogging time, is that we haven't really had a whole lot going on worth blogging about.  The hubs has been working a lot lately thanks to yet another tropical storm and any other downtiem we have had has been spent watching moveis and loving on our boy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This past weekend after purchasing my new set of wheels, we headed over to our friends Strange and Savannah's apartment to finish watching the AU debacle against Clemson.
It was obviously not the turn out that we had hoped for, but I had a feeling that Clemson had a chip on their shoulder from last season and with our young team, it was a strong possibility. The boys, however, got over it pretty quickly, so no worries.

Yes, I was def in the minority when it came to the girls representing for AU...maybe that's why we lost...hhmmm.

Something(s) New

Watch out people, I'm back on the blogging wagon...2 posts in one day.
Phoenix and Jess now offically have something to do at work for the next hour and 50 minutes!

So 2 weekends ago the hubs and I finally joined the 21st century and got iphones! We are really liking them thus far and are really excited to use all of the cool apps too. :)  The hubs has already been put on probation on due to excessive buying of the apps on itunes and I believe I'm going to have to child-lock his account for a while. :)

Continuing on the buying new stuff trend...
Here is my new ride-a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo!

I can't tell you how much I lurve it! :)  From the first time I saw the new body styles, I knew that was the next car I wanted and this past weekend the stars aligned and we made it happen.  Don't get me wrong I loved my Honda Civic, but I knew that eventually it will not be the most practical when it comes time to have pretty babies. :)

So now we are offically a Jeep family-the hubs has his 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, I have my new love and my parents have their 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo...you could saw that we are fans of Jeeps, huh?

Chow Down Around Town-Ollie Irene

Let's play a little game of catch up, shall we?

I'll start with the most recent and work my way through to current to appease all of those readers sitting on the edge of your seats waiting to hear read what's happening in our not-so-entertaining lives! :)

Last night we ate at a place called Ollie Irene's (it was named after the owner/chefs grandmother-so sweet) in Mtn Brook Village.  It is a new restaurant featuring local ingredients in a new and different way and it did not disappoint.  The burger was delish as well as the eggplant caponata that I got, but the best thing there (other than the wine) was the dessert...

the Peach Tart Tatin!
It kind of looks like a breakfast dish in the pictures, but let me assure you that it was yummy!

We had a good little group and it was the perfect example for why we continue to have our Chow Down dinners b/c we got to see and catch up with a few ladies that we have not seen in a while. :)
(ahem Melanie)

Ang (and Mattox), Mere, Julie, Bethany, Yours Truly, Erica, Phoenix and our long lost friend Mel!

Stay tuned...

Labor Day Weekend<--real creative blog title

Our Labor Day weekend was pretty uneventful in the fact that we only left the house once, but we did celebrate quite a few special occasions and some pretty crappy weather that is still lingering on through today causing my hubs to be MIA for the next few days. :(

On with the weekends festivities...
Saturday we crawled down the street to Matt and Jess' house for the first Auburn football game (vs Utah State) of the year.  It was quite a painful game to watch, but we were able to pull out a win (granted a small win, but a win is still a win).War Eagle!  In between games and halftime, the boys played some bocce ball while the girls enjoyed some patio sittin'. :)

I know mom-worst posture ever...
The boys acting their age...
We were also celebrating Matt (and Nick's-even though he wasn't there) 27th birthdays!

Sunday and Monday pretty much consisted of me lounging on the sofa, in my pj's, watching stupid reality TV...nothing cool enough to even mention on this blog really.

Monday was a nasty day and the hubs unfortunately had to work in it all day until the wee hours of the morning, but
a bright spot of the day was that these lovelies celebrated 31 wonderful years of wedded bliss! :)

My parents!
They are a true example of what love and commitment is all about.  They could not be more opposite but are so alike in the same sense and just make it work.  They are just as in love today, 31 years later as they were the day they married and I want to wish them 31+ more wonderfully happy and exciting years together!
I love you both dearly! :)
