Iko Iko an nay!

I'm not going to promise that this post will make any sense nor will it be the most entertaining post I have ever done, but I have a few things that I wanted to share!

First of all, I'm completely exhausted by this week and it's only Tuesday-we are fixing up my grandmother's house for a new tenant to move in by Thursday and by fixing it up I mean, all new paint throughout the house, a new floor throughout the kitchen, hallway and bathroom, replace the backsplash, clean from top to bottom, and so much more!  We have been over there the past few nights till about 9 knocking things off of our "to do" list and we are super tired already.  All I can say is that this new tenant better take care fo the property or I will...
Secondly, I forgot to mention that the hubs passed his ESOP test!!!  Yay for Mitch...I am so very proud of you honey!  This just puts him one step closer to his apprenticeship position that he will hopefully get very soon! :: fingers crossed ::

I wanted to share a few lovelies that I recently received and am super stoked about...

My I'm-so-crafty-I-can-make anything-friend-Tiff made me for my birthday...isn't it adorable?!
It jsut sceams Spring Time!
I can't wait to put it on my front door.

Am I ready for Auburn football season or what?!  Actually, I'm ready for the A-Day game coming up in April!
War Damn Eagle!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This past Friday night we went to Phoenix and Oj's house and played a mean game of charades (boys vs girls of course...it's the only way we play) and the girls partook in the Wii Just Dance 2 game...can I just say that I'm addicted!
So much fun and such a workout too!

Random Button Friday

-First off, I want to say a big congrats to 2, friends Tiff and Jenn that found out yesterday that they will be having beautiful baby boys in August! I am so excited for both of them...this will be Tiff's second boy and Jenn's first and I can't wait for the babies to start rolling in!
(I so stole this picture from her blog, sue me!)
The baby boom has certainly hit our group of friends just like the wedding boom hit a few years ago and it is def going to be intersting to see our dear friends become mommies and daddies!  Can't wait!

-The hubs is taking his ESOP test this morning...big test...say a prayer that he passed with flying colors and he can continue his Alabama Power education!

-A week from today Wrigley is going to lose his man card...yep, we are having the little man fixed and he won't feel the need to cover them up anymore...
The hubs keeps trying to explain to him that he needs to enjoy his man jewels before they take them away, but I'm not sure he has grasped the concept quite yet...

"What chu talkin' 'bout Willis?"

-I went to Target the other day to exchange some stuff and came across this beauty for only $7!
(I also got the shirt in the background for $8!)
Love me a bargain!

-Tomorrow will finish up our first full month of Insanity workout...let me just tell you, it's def hard, but I can truly tell a difference in how I feel and I certainly have more muscle and stamina now too.
Of course, being a female, I want the scale to read a certain way, especially after working my booty off, but I know, muscle weighs more than fat (so I'm told), but I'm still a girl and need to see that tiny number come across the tiny screen!
It's motivation!
Come on tiny numbers!
We still have 1 month to go, pray for us (and tiny numbers!)

-Last weekend when we were out shopping for my birthday, we went into Dick's and saw this little guy
how flippin' cute is the miniature golf bag for the little fella's?! ;) I know I'm simple-minded, but I found it fascinating that they make them that small and a step further that people would/will give a child that tiny, a metal stick!

-I am not a reader (other than the Twilight series, but I was left no choice but to read them since my boyfriend is in them-love you Rob Pat! (Jess, he's mine, not yours!))  But Jess and the moms did turn me on to a book, Water for Elephants...I literally read the entire book in less than a week!  It was so good and I can't wait for the movie to come out starring Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon...oh wait, do I detect a pattern... :)

We shall see if any other books tickle my fancy and who knows, I may become a reader (Mom-don't get your hopes up quite yet though!)

Well I'm off to try to get some work done, since it's almost noon and I haven't as much as picked up a pen all day long!
OH wait, it's lunch time...maybe after lunch I'll try to do something that they pay me to do here!
Have a great weekend!

I'm a big girl now

This weekend was pretty wonderful!  Friday night we went to Phoenix and OJ's house to grill out and chill...I love tshirt and flip flops kind of nights!

Saturday, the hubs had to work, so what else better to do with my day than to go lay out with the girls adn drink some pina colada's at Mere's neighborhood pool! :)  It was GORGEOUS outside and perfect laying out weather!  We stayed at Mere and Ben's house and grilled out in ur bathing suits and headed home kind of early.

Sunday, we made our way to Hayden, AL to visit the nephews and grill out since it has been F.O.R.E.V.E.R since we have seen them-I mean I fully expected Cohen to be driving by now and Hunter to be in college it had been so long.  :)

*Side note-now I am understanding why the scale read differently this morning than I had anticipated since we literally ate the entire weekend long!  I mean do we just plan every event around food these days?!  Answer-yes!

Back to the title of my post...
I know that I will catch some laughs about this but here we go...
(especially from the hubs-he has had a field day with this topic the last few days!)
2 weeks ago I went to the dentist for the first time in like 10 years... (yes I know awful, right?!)  I'm not real sure why I have waited this long but I did and finally decided it was tiem to be a big girl, so I made the appointment.  Now for not having been to the dentist in 10 years I came away with 1 cavity...eekkk! The horror!

I was mortified...why?
Because I am 28 years old and have never had a cavity in.my.life. and I can't stand not knowing exactly what is going to happen.
So today I went to get my first filling ever...I was super nervous (this is where the hubs really got his kicks) all weekend about
how it was going to go,
was it going to hurt,
was I going to die?

But I am happy to report that I made it out alive!
Yay!  I feel like a real grown up now.

Anyways, I would have some pictures for you but my computer at work is not being very cooperative right now.
I guess it's my work way of telling me that I need to get some work done instead of blogging!

I love this tag

and wish I would have thought about it first!

So, I turned 28...

yesterday!  I took the day off of work, because quite frankly I'm childish and didn't want to have to work on my special day! :)

The hubs took me for a little shopping excursion on Sunday for some much needed new clothes and yesterday he surprised me by taking me for a little wine tasting at a small "vineyard"(I use that term loosely) and lunch!  The "vineyard tour" was not exactly what he had in mind but it was a super sweet thought! :)  We did get to do a little wine tasting and I actually found a red wine that I can tolerate!

Last night we had a few close friends meet us at Munoz for some cheese dip, cake, and a warm shot of vodka that Jenn tried to buy me! :)There was apparently a failure to communicate with Jenn and the waiter when she tried to order a birthday shot for me (not a vodka shot)....well my shot of vodka turned into a vodka "drink"! It was kind of funny!

me and my Pop
Everyone who came to help me celebrate getting old! (Jenn, Brooke D, Chris, the hubs, Yours Truly, Pop, Mom, Matt, Mere, Ben, Jess, Matt, Harper)
Ben and Mere
My parents
Some of my besties!

My birthday weekend was so much fun and I can't thank everyone enough for all the birthday wishes, shout outs, presents and more! It was wonderful and I truly feel so loved and am such a lucky girl!

Happy Birthday to me! :)

So proud

of the hubs for passing his test Monday! :) Way to go babe!
He works for Alabama Power and they put their employees through "school"  throughout their career in order to prep them for future job positons within the company in order to advance.  He has been in this particular class since mid January-one week of in class sessions and the rest of the 5-6 weeks has been strictly hands on practice in preparation for this big test-building a cable splice, or something like that. :)

All of that to say that HE PASSED!!  YAY! :)

He works so hard and I am so proud of him for all he has done and all he will do!  This is the first of many tests he will have to pass in order to advance further, but since it was the first major one and the trickiest thus far and sicne I'm THAT wife, I felt it was worth some bragging and congrats!

Love you honey and couldn't be more proud of you! :)
Keep up the good work!

50 and Fabulous!

Wow, I bet you thought I fell off the face of the earth, huh?! :)

This past weekend we celebrated my god-mother, Nina's 50th birthday party and it was all a big suprise! The party was held at their house in one of their many warehouses on their property that they run their business (Rusty's Off Road) <--you're welcome for the advertisement ;) out of.  It really was one of the best "suprises' I have ever seen-she truly had no idea AT ALL ! :)   They had good food, drinks, a 50 and fabulous cake and the band Crossfire performing while we all danced the night away!

The birthday girl!
Is that a suprised face or what?!
Her and her baby, Zac
Her other son Tony and his wife Stephanie and their son Ryder
Rusty and Nina-he loves having his picture taken, can you tell?! :)
A very rare moment-my brother NOT making a stupid face in a picture...
But don't worry, he made up for it later...

Today is Nina's actual birthday and I want to wish her a very special birthday wish...she is one of the nicest, funniest people I have ever met in my life and am so happy to call her my godmother! :) Love you Nina!

Happy 50th Birthday Nina!

Happy Hump Day!

Dont' really have a whole lot to say today but Wrigley hasn't made an appearance on here in a while soooo....
He looks kind of funny in this picture, but he's still adorable!  He wanted his picture taken while his daddy and I were taking our "before" pictures.  Love him! :)

Hope everyone's week is going well!

It's INSANE!

Yesterday the hubs and I started the Insanity Workout routine and all I have to say is...wow!  It is going to be a brutal 2 months to say the least!

We started out by doing the first of many Fit Tests to mark where we are starting out and I am so sore from just doing that.  We took "before" pictures and let me tell you, there is no motivation better for pushing this girl away from the table and getting my booty in gear than to have taken a "before" picture of myself...goood morning wake up call! :)

If you have never heard about Insanity Workout, it is very similar to the P90X system except there are no weights and it is only 2 months rather than 3.  I have heard some great things about it and hope that by the end of the 2 months I have some amazing news to share with you guys!
 Pray for us!

Chow Down Around Town-Zea's Rotisserie Grill

Last Thursday night we had our monthly Chow Down at a place called Zea's in Brookwood.  It was delish!  They have a "bar menu" that is only supposed to be served at the bar between their happy hours (3-6) but we ahd an awesome waiter named Berry-as in strawberry-as he introduced himself, that was kind enough to honor the bar menu at our table. :)
They have some of the best hummus I have ever had in my life...they serve it Mediterranean style with olives, roasted red peppers, tomatoes and feta cheese...I want soem right now!  I got the shrimp and grits off of the $5 appetizer bar menu and it was way too much for me to finish-can't imaginewhat the whole entree size looks like.  We had some good wine, good food and good girls time as always...I'm so glad that we hae our monthly time to just chill with our girls, relax and stuff our faces!

Phoenix, Jordan, Yours Truly, Ashley, Brittany, Mere, Bethany and Jenn
What can I say, we love our wine time!? :)
