Hollis' first trip to the zoo

We decided to spend our St. Patty's Day this year at the zoo.  The weather was perfect and even though Hollis wasn't quite aware of where we were at, it was fun just to get out and enjoy the nice weather as a family with good friends. :)

This was by far my fav of the day-this lion kept roaring so loud and was perched up on that rock like the true king of the jungle!
Hollis enjoyed him too. :)
Hollis was more interested in Baylor's shirt and my hubby was apparently more interested in getting a picture of the gorilla rather than using the flash. :)

Hollis did really well and was actually awake for a good part of the day but passed out shortly after getting her afternoon bottle.
She is so aware right now so even though she couldn't put it together that these were animals, I think she enjoyed just looking around at everything.

I wish I would have gotten more pictures, but in true fashion my camera batteries died...

but I did manage to get a few on my phone after little miss sassy pants woke up just full of herself on the way home. :)
These are some of my favs!
Our little Irish babe!
Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Yesterday was the day, the day that I offically left my twenties and entered a whole new bracket..30!

I celebrated with friends and family last night at Munoz (b/c every year I have Mexican for my birthday so why break tradition now) and it def softened the blow of turning the big 3-0!

We had a great time with all of the babies in tow and I'm so very blessed to have such a wondeful family and amazing friends to celebrate with!

Baby food-take 1

So after talking to Hollis' pediatrician this week, we decided to "dabble our toe" in the solids department and see how Miss Thang likes something with a little more flavor than soy.
We know its going to be a while before she gets really into it, but I am looking forward to watching her reaction to each new food she tries. :)

Last night we decided to start with some bananas, thinking everyone likes bananas, right?!
Wrong!
 First attempt = fail.
Better luck next time. :)

Looking like such a big girl ready for some grub!

Hollis-4 Months

Little bit turned 4 months old on February 25th-yes I'm way behind!
I can not believe that she is already this old!  I never understood until now how quickly time really does fly by.

We went to the doctor Monday for her 4 month check up (and shots)...

happy baby before her shots

Here are her stats:
HC: 16 in
Ht: 25 in (17th percentile)
Wt: 13.3 lbs (30th percentile)

She did very well at the doctor and only cried for a few seconds after her shots. I think it hurts me way more than her!  We don't go back to the doctor until her 6 month appointment in May.

I know that I will probably say this every month, but this is my favorite month!

-She has begun to interact with us (and Wrigley) so much-laughing, smiling (cheesin') all of the time and "talking".

-She loves to roll around on the floor, especially since she can roll over now! She rolls from her back to her tummy and does it all of the time! We managed to get her to roll over from tummy to back one time but not since.  Hoping this month she will get better with that one.
-She has also discovered Wrigley in the last week and thinks he is pretty funny when he barks and wrestles with daddy!
-She discovered her feet!

-She started blowing raspberries-she thinks this is hilarious! She will do this when she is super happy or when she is upset and we aren't picking her up in the appropriate amount of time! Sassy girl!

-She is offically in 3 month clothes now and is wearing some 3-6 months sleepers
-She is in size 1 diapers and I think she will be in those for a bit longer
-She loves her toys and is now reaching out for them and holding them and her paci

We love her so much and can't imagine what on earth we did before we had her in our lives.
We are truly stunned every night as she falls asleep on one of us at how very lucky we are that we were blessed with such a beautiful, healthy baby!  God didn't have to be so gracious to us but he did and he chose us to be the paretns to this sassy little blessing we call Hollis!
We love you little bit!

Hollis-3 Months

I went to finish Hollis' 4 month post and realized I never posted this one...oops!

First of all, I'm in love with these pictures of Hollis! She looks so big and I just can't believe how much she has changed since her 1 month photos!

A few things that she is doing this month:

-she has learned to laugh...she has been smiling for a few weeks now but the laughs are too adorable for words.
-she has become quite the little jabber jaws...she loves to "talk"
-she likes to try to "feed" herself but usually ends up with formula all over her face bc she bounces her bottle out of our hands :)
-she started teething a few weeks ago and even though we don't have any pearly whites quite yet, she has been drooling like crazy and she loves to chew on her (or our) hands all.of.the.time!
-she is liking tummy time more and more and even rolled over for the first time, but she has only done it once.
-she has started reaching for her toys now and is much more interactive with toys...and the Ipad (she loves to watch that thing :)
-she has started to play with her jumper a bit too.  She only wants in it for 10 minutes or so, but is able to "stand" up in it with the assistance of a towel under her feet and behind her back. :)
and of course big brother is right beside her, as always!
