Our crazy weekend

Do you ever have one of those weekends that you feel like ar never going to end?!  Well that was kind of how ours was.

I'll spare you the details, but to make an extremely long story short, the hubs worked 30+ hours overtime in 2 days time, we attended our 8 hr parenting class Saturday, AU lost (again) and we had our baby shower!

Our parenting class was interesting to say the very least, but we both agreed that we are glad that we went b/c it was informative...extremely outdated, but informative all the same!
We learned everything you ever wanted to know about labor and delivery (only to be told half way thru that the examples/videos we were watching were all of natural births!) Um, could have told us that far before I became scarred for life!

After lunch, the class was more focused on newborn care, which I was much more excited about.  I mean, let's be honest, I think it's safe to say that I've got the pregnancy thing down by now and as far as labor a delivery goes, I feel like ignorance is bliss as long as I have drugs, so my real concern is when they send this baby home with us and we are solely responsible for her!
Yes, please help in that area!

We learned how to give a proper bath, swaddle, soothe the baby and change the diapers.  All helpful things for sure, but by the end of the afternoon, delirium due to lack of sleep kicked in with my hubby...

Funny note about the belly suite: After putting it on, the hubs didn't think it was all that bad since we "gradually put on the weight" and he admitted it was heavy, but after I told him to sit downa dn get comfy and bend over, he gained an entirely new outlook on it all and apologized for his earlier statement.
I really wish we could rent one of these bellies out for them when we feel we deserve more sympathy! ;)
Our Kung Fu baby

In all seriousness, my hubby couldn't have been a better sport about it all.  With the frustrations at work and the lack of sleep, he was so fun and supportive the entire weekend, especially at the class and it meant so much to me that he was so involved.

He's going to be an amazing daddy!
Thank you honey! Love you!

33 Weeks

How far along:
33 weeks

Weight Gain:
2lbs this week, 24 lbs total

Sleep:
still sleeping good.  I have decided that God is slowly prepping me for Hollis' arrival and not sleeping late anymore b/c every time that I have the opportunity to sleep in a bit, I am wide awake no later than 8:30ish!

Best moment of the week:
So many things happened this week (parents house was finally demoed, parenting class, etc) and they will all have their own seperate posts, but the most exciting on the baby front is my baby tea was Sunday (post to follow) and it could not have been more perfect!
Mitch, Hollis and I could not feel more loved by all of our family and friends!
It was perfect!

Food Cravings:
still nothing major-fruit always sounds good and of course the occassional cookie here or there. :)

Gender:
GIRL!!!!!

Movement:
We def have a little mover and shaker on our hands! She has had her little butt poked out most of the week and my belly has been lop-sided which feels kind of funny at times, but I still love it.
I did video my belly bouncing all around this week and will try to post it later.

What I miss:
Dressing in the cute fall clothes that are coming out.  I know my time will come very shortly, so I'm trying to not wish this time away and just enjoy it!

What I am looking forward to:
Going thru all of our stuff we got at our tea and playing in the precious clothes!
She will be the best dressed chick on the block for sure!

Also, we get to babysit precious Baylor man tomorrow night while his mommy and daddy enjoy some adult time and I'm so excited! He is such a good baby and we love to watch him play and discover new things at this age!

Labor Day Weekend Recap

Labor day weekend was jam-packed from a birthday party, to college football kick-off to a little trip to the lake and I think we deserve a day of rest after such a long holiday weekend!

Saturday before we got into full college football mode, we went to Graham's 1st birthday party. Graham is my sweet friend Tiff's littlest boy and of course their was not a detail missed!

It's crazy to think that he is already a year old! Time def flies by way too fast but then again , the last time I saw Tiffy, I didn't have this big ol' belly either! :)

Later that evening, we decided to have a few people over to watch football and play with babies!  Our football parties are kind of like our pool parties these days-boys drink beer and watch football/play cornhole and the girls gather around the food and play/hold/feed the babies!  They've changed quite a bit now that most of us have little ones or little ones on the way, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
It's so much fun and I can't wait until Hollis is here to join in on the fun!!
She already has a football outfit ready to go!

Baylor, Ann-Reeves, and Mattox ready for some AU football!
baby corner...
me and my big baby...
the boys, totally uninterested in baby corner and/or Yours Truly standing in front of the TV for a photo op!
Baylor and his daddy cheering on our AU Tigers, even though it didn't help them much in the end since we lost to Clemson...sad :(
Hollis' 1st football game!
Technically our 1st family of 4 picture, even though Wrigley is having nothing to do with us at the moment and is more concerned with getting the crumbs off of the floor. :)

Sunday, the boys played golf and Jess and I went shopping at the Carter's outlet, where I half-way lost my mind! Had to reel it in a bit since our tea is comng up this weekend and I was going to go broke, but it was so much fun shopping for her!

Monday, the hubs and I went to his dad's lakehouse to grill out, go on a boat wide (as Cohen kept saying) and enjoy some family time.  I suck completely and took no pictures, but didn't really feel like carrying my camera around all day since we spent the majority of our time wet due to rain on and off.

It was a wonderful weekend and we all got to do a little bit of everything!

Also, on a completely different side note...

I would like to wish my parents a very Happy 32nd Anniversary!!!

I can't begin to list all of the things, good and bad, that you have been through together, but the one thing that has always remained a constant is how much you love each other.
I hope that you have many many more good, happy years to come, together!
Love you both!!!!

32 Weeks

How far along:
32 weeks
8 months people!!

Weight Gain:
0 lbs this week, 22lbs total
No clue how this happened with football season starting b/c I clearly munched all day on Saturday, but I'll take what I can get these days!

Sleep:
still no complaints really other than the 20 potty breaks...

Best moment of the week:
It's a toss up b/t seeing one of my besties Tiff for Graham's 1st b'day (post to come later) or the kickoff of college football! Both were so much fun!

Food Cravings:
still nothing out of the norm really

Gender:
GIRL!!!!!

Movement:
We have started calling Hollis our little Mexican jumping bean b/c she is all over the place all of the time! I'm beginning to think she is running out of room and is trying to make more but that just isn't happening! :)
Still by far my fav thing in the world to feel her moving around!

What I miss:
My belly button...

What I am looking forward to:
My baby tea is this weekend and I'm so excited to see everyone and help us celebrate our precious little one's impending arrival!

Also, we have our parenting class on Saturday (yes the hubs is thrilled since AU plays at 11:00) and even though I know it's going to be a long day, I'm looking forward to it.  It also may scare us a but considering we are less than 2 months away from having a baby!

Also, I have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions in the last week or so. Apparently it is quite normal as long as they don't start a pattern or too frequently.  They don't hurt, but my belly just gets super tight for maybe 30-45 seconds and then it slacks off.  The funny thing is you can usually see my belly is lop-sided where her little butt is poking out!

Hollis' 4D-Take two!

Monday we went back for our regular appointment and to see if Hollis would cooperate and let us see her little face a bit more than last time.
Well, it wasn't easy (she took a bit of coaxing) but we were able to get some pretty adorable pics of her  precious face...and her personality!

My apologies ahead of time for the quality of these pics-picture of a picture...
Here is a bit of the sassy personality we were able to see-apparently she was not a fan of us poking at her to get her to turn around!
love this one of her little hands up by her face bc you can see her profile so good!
her little lips puckered up :)
one of my favs!

We were so glad that we were able to get a few good ones of her entire face and can not wait to see what she looks like compared to these pics!

Only 9 more weeks to go...scary!

Sneak Peeks...

We are still moving right along with the nursery but here is a quick sneak peek of the bedding, the freshly painted walls and her changing table that we just got in this week!

We also added crown molding to her room and I think it makes all the difference in the world!

The walls for some reason are photographing much lighter and more of a tan tone than they actually are.
The walls are more like this picture than the one above...
Our lovely changing table-not completely finished. Still have to add the baskets and the knobs, but you get the idea.
Also, my apologies for the strange angle fo this pic, I took it this morning before I left for work and obvi was still snoozin' a bit... :)

Also, here a small glimpse into our maternity session we had on Sunday and I can't wait to see the rest!

8/29/12

31 Weeks

How far along:
31 weeks

Weight Gain:
4 lbs this week, 22 lbs total
The scale and I are officially no longer friends after this week, just sayin'...

Sleep:
I have slept much better this week, but def have to watch it when I wake up for a potty break, bc  if I start thinking too much, I have a harder time falling back asleep b/c I'm trying to solve all of the world's problems.

Best moment of the week:
We had our maternity pics taken on Sunday and I think they turned out great.  We were able to get a little sneak peak and we can't wait to see the rest!

Food Cravings:
still nothing too crazy, but I have eaten a lot of burgers this week (hence why the scale and I are no longer friends), but it was purely by accident and just sounded good at the time.

Gender:
GIRL!!!

Movement:
LOTS! She has been doing somersaults this week and I still love it more than anything! It is so comforting to feel her throughout the day and just makes me giggle.
She will still kick Mitch back when he pokes her at bedtime and we think its the cutest little kicks ever! :)
(no mom, we are poking at her hard, just little love taps!)

What I miss:
Don't miss a whole lot this week.
Even though I have not once "craved" alchohol  during this pregnancy, (which quite frankly was my biggest surprise that it would be so easy), I'm not gonna lie, at Chow Down this past week, the drinks some of the girls had looked pretty yummy and I def will be making a trip to Five for a blueberry mojito or a strawberry lemonade come November!

What I am looking forward to:
Our changing table is supposed to be delivered today and I can't wait to see how it looks in her room!

Also, on a non-baby front, I'm so excited about football season kicking off this weekend! It doesn't seem like it's already time for it to be here, but Mitchell and I certainly welcome it (and the yummy food) with open arms!
War Damn Eagle!
