Weekend happenings...

Nothing like doing a weekend round up on a Thurday...

This past weekend was packed!
Friday night we met our dear sweet friends Austin and Ashley and Matt and Jess and Baylor for some dinner at Macaroni Grill (we may or may not have gone for the 1/2 off wine) :)

We had so much fun catching up with Ashley and Austin and letting the kiddos play on the patio.  We did the entire restaurant a favor and sat on the patio outside! You're welcome Macaroni Grill. :)

These are of the highest picture quality, of course.... :)
Its a good look for Austin and Ashley too, huh?

Saturday afternoon we sadly had a going away party for our friends Shane, Andrea and Max.  They are moving to South Carolina for Shanes job and as much as we are going to miss them, this is a wonderful opportunity for their family.  We just hope they come visit often (or we visit them, weekend getaway, what?!)
Blogger fail = no pics

Saturday night my parents came to watch little bit while we went to help celebrate the upcoming nuptuals for our friends Nathan and Rachel! They are getting married in November and we couldn't be happier for them...they are a super sweet couple and we cant' wait till the wedding!

They really love each other...

The happy couple :)

Sunday required a pool and some chill time after a fun-filled weekend!

Reece is here!

Last Friday Miss Reece decided to make her grand entrance into the world a week early! Mommy and baby did great and we are so thankful for that!!

Megan was scheduled to be induced on the 22nd unless Reece decided to come on her own and in true girl fashion, she did!

Reece was born August 17th and weighed 6lbs, 15 oz and was 20 1/2 in long...with a ton of beautiful dark hair!

We gave mommy and daddy til the next day and then we brought our caravan up to meet her!
Yours Truly, the hubs, Hollis, Baylor, Jess and Matt all piled into Matt and Jess' shaggin' waggon' for a mini road trip. Brave, I know.
The babies did wonderful and even took a nap or 2, but of course not at the same time. :) That would be too easy. :)

Now on to what you really want to see, baby pics!

so tiny!
It was so wonderful to hold a newborn baby again, but sad b/c it is a reminder to me that my baby will be a year old in 2 short months.  :)
I really didn't want to give her up!

I think this is a good look for us, no?! :)
pretty baby (love the bow!)
Sweet baby Reece opened her eyes for us for a second...looks just like her mommy to me!

 Mommies and babies

Nick and Megan-
I could not be more happy for you two.
Being a parent is the hardest yet the most rewarding thing that I have ever done. I constantly ask myself how we became so lucky to have such a wonderful gift from God and I pray that you too will grow to know that kind of love for your daughter.
We love all 3 of you!

Chow Down Around Town-Saw's Juke Joint

So it's been a while since I've done a Chow Down rap up.
I missed a few and now its that time of the month again for another Chow Down, so I figured it was a good time to post last months.

We went to Saw's Juke Joint and to be honest I wasn't super excited about it at first b/c I just assumed it was a bbq place and I didn't really think it would be all that wonderful. Well, I ate my words b/c the food was pretty phenomenal, the drinks were flowing and the company was even better. :)

We munched on the crab claws, fried okra, fried zucchini (of course it was all fat free :) and by the time it was time to order dinner, I just ordered a wedge salad and a side of squash casserole-both were amazing!
I forgot the name of the drink but it was wine with peach schnapps served with a rose petal and slice of peach...yum-o!!!

A different kind of 4th of July

Every 4th of July that I can ever remember has consisted of swimming/laying out by a pool/body of water with a cooler of tastey drinks followed by some yummy hot dogs and hamburgers and ending the night with fireworks.
Well this 4th was slightly different since it was pouring down rain the entire weekend! Which meant no pool time. :(
So we decided to load up the babies and head to the McWane Center. We got there right as it opened in order to avoid the crowd and it was the best idea bc as we were leaving, the place was packed!

While some of the activities were obviously a little too advanced for Hollis since she is still pretty young, we think she still enjoyed looking at everything...especially the bubbles!

Domincan Republic-Part Tres

Probably one of our favorite nights was the night of the Michael Jackson show.  They had an impersonator that was pretty spot on when it came to his dance moves and the show was fantastic!  We had front row seats and it was totally worth it!

Eating dinner before the show

Waiting for Michael!

Our last full day with everyone we decided that we wanted to do an excursion and after some negotiating,w e were able to get a private catamaran to take us snorkeling and for a little booze cruise action.  It was by far my favorite of the entire trip bc everyone was together and we all had a blast.

10 people + 2 hours + 3 bottles of rum = good times and great memories!

After snorkeling, they took us to this sandbar area where a bunch of other boats were docked and just partying.  There was music coming from every boat, people playing frisby in the water and enjoying the gorgeous view....and some rum! :)

Love him

Surprisingly we all made it out to dinner...not that it was a late night by any means, but we did manage to eat soem yummy French dinner. :)
