Hollis' 4D-Take two!

Monday we went back for our regular appointment and to see if Hollis would cooperate and let us see her little face a bit more than last time.
Well, it wasn't easy (she took a bit of coaxing) but we were able to get some pretty adorable pics of her  precious face...and her personality!

My apologies ahead of time for the quality of these pics-picture of a picture...
Here is a bit of the sassy personality we were able to see-apparently she was not a fan of us poking at her to get her to turn around!
love this one of her little hands up by her face bc you can see her profile so good!
her little lips puckered up :)
one of my favs!

We were so glad that we were able to get a few good ones of her entire face and can not wait to see what she looks like compared to these pics!

Only 9 more weeks to go...scary!

Sneak Peeks...

We are still moving right along with the nursery but here is a quick sneak peek of the bedding, the freshly painted walls and her changing table that we just got in this week!

We also added crown molding to her room and I think it makes all the difference in the world!

The walls for some reason are photographing much lighter and more of a tan tone than they actually are.
The walls are more like this picture than the one above...
Our lovely changing table-not completely finished. Still have to add the baskets and the knobs, but you get the idea.
Also, my apologies for the strange angle fo this pic, I took it this morning before I left for work and obvi was still snoozin' a bit... :)

Also, here a small glimpse into our maternity session we had on Sunday and I can't wait to see the rest!

31 Weeks

How far along:
31 weeks

Weight Gain:
4 lbs this week, 22 lbs total
The scale and I are officially no longer friends after this week, just sayin'...

Sleep:
I have slept much better this week, but def have to watch it when I wake up for a potty break, bc  if I start thinking too much, I have a harder time falling back asleep b/c I'm trying to solve all of the world's problems.

Best moment of the week:
We had our maternity pics taken on Sunday and I think they turned out great.  We were able to get a little sneak peak and we can't wait to see the rest!

Food Cravings:
still nothing too crazy, but I have eaten a lot of burgers this week (hence why the scale and I are no longer friends), but it was purely by accident and just sounded good at the time.

Gender:
GIRL!!!

Movement:
LOTS! She has been doing somersaults this week and I still love it more than anything! It is so comforting to feel her throughout the day and just makes me giggle.
She will still kick Mitch back when he pokes her at bedtime and we think its the cutest little kicks ever! :)
(no mom, we are poking at her hard, just little love taps!)

What I miss:
Don't miss a whole lot this week.
Even though I have not once "craved" alchohol  during this pregnancy, (which quite frankly was my biggest surprise that it would be so easy), I'm not gonna lie, at Chow Down this past week, the drinks some of the girls had looked pretty yummy and I def will be making a trip to Five for a blueberry mojito or a strawberry lemonade come November!

What I am looking forward to:
Our changing table is supposed to be delivered today and I can't wait to see how it looks in her room!

Also, on a non-baby front, I'm so excited about football season kicking off this weekend! It doesn't seem like it's already time for it to be here, but Mitchell and I certainly welcome it (and the yummy food) with open arms!
War Damn Eagle!

Wow, I'm pregnant...weird

Coming to the realization that I'm 30 weeks preggers and will be having a baby in 2 1/2 months (or less) is just now hitting me. It's crazy to think that Mitch (my Mitchell) and I will be parents by the end of football season, before Christmas, hell even before Thanksgiving!
It's a hard thing to wrap my head around but we could not feel more fortunate for not only this precious little girl but for such a wonderful pregnancy in general. :)

Since day 1, weird has been my word of choice in describing pregnancy. I have found myself using that word more in the last 7 months than I think I ever have before.

It's weird...to feel something inside of you move around.

It's weird...to look at your husband as the soon to be father of your child, as a daddy and not just your hubby.

It's weird...to have complete strangers that would normally have nothing to say to you, stop you in the store and ask you when your baby is due.

It's weird...to think that you get to name this little person something that will stick with them for the rest of their lives-no pressure?! :)

It's weird...that you lose your belly button. <--had to do this this past week- moment of silence please :(

It's weird...to look at an u/s and know that that human being is inside your body (especially when you are still very early and can't feel the baby move yet, but can see them wiggling all over the place on the u/s.)

It's weird...to think that we only ahve 9 more weeks to go!

It's weird...to see how quickly your body changes in such a short period of time...

It's weird...to just now look at these comparison pictures of yourself for the first time and can't believe how much I've changed! :) crazy!
It's weird...to think that God has chosen us to be blessed with this amazing gift that not everyone gets to experience in life! :)

This list could go on for days about different little quirks, but I'll spare you. These are just a few of the many thoughts that have run through our heads over the past few months.

Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Chow Down Around Town-Five

Last night we met up for our monthly Chow Down at a place called Five in Lakeview.  I have been wanting to go here for a while and was so excited I was able to make this one b/c it ended up being one of my fav places we've been!

The weather was perfect for sitting on the patio with a hint of fall in the air.  Tuesday night is ladies night and while that didn't help this preggo very much, the other ladies seemed to really enjoy the variety of drinks and I have to admit, they were very pretty and looked delicious!

We dove into the shrimp queso and baked avacado apps to get us started-the baked avacado was literally a half of an avacado with melted shrimp, bacon and some other yummy stuff on top-literally melted in your mouth!
My burger buddy Phoenix and I split the burger and it was more than enough food for both of us.  While they did split the double cheeseburger between us, they did not split the fries and side salad, so we each got our own full size portions! Score!
And then of course we had to end the night with this bowl of delicious goodness (aka white chocolate bread pudding)!
I'm not sure how many calories are in it and I'm not sure I ever want to know, but believe me, its worth every bit of extra work you need to do the next day to burn it off!
Fabulous!

30 Weeks

How far along:
30 weeks!
Crazy to think we are only 10 weeks away from meeting our little Sweet Pea!

Weight Gain:
1 1/2 lbs this week, 18 lbs total

Sleep:
I think I've jinxed myself talking about how great I've been sleeping this whole time.  Not that I've been sleeping bad this week, I've just noticed that its not quite as restful as it used to be.  But still could be 10 times worse, so I'm not going to complain to much! :)

Best moment of the week:
Getting the nursery painted!
Pop and Mitch painted the nursery this weekend and it looks amazing! It's exactly what I invisioned in my head and couldn't be more in love with the color! Now the fun part begins...

Food Cravings:
Sweets have sounded good this week, but pretty much the whole pregnancy I've craved a little something sweet so nothing completely crazy.
However, a Summer Roll from Chuck's wouldn't stand a chance if it was put in front of me right now, just sayin'!

Gender:
GIRL!!!

Movement:
Wow! She has been a busy little bee this week! She is moving around so much, especially at night as we are trying to fall asleep.  Mitch will fall asleep with his hand on my belly and just before we both doze off, it's like she wants to remind us that she's still there and will kick his hand and start rolling from one side to the other!  It's so funny bc the movements will tickle too. :)

Love it and by far my favorite thing about being preggo
(other than we will have a beautiful little girl when all is said and done!)

What I miss:
I miss just being able to do things without having to think if its ok or not.  Like painting the nursery this weekend, I kept thinking I could just grab a paint brush and get on it or trying to clean the carpet where Wrigley decided to redecorate-obvi not good for preggo women to smell those strong fumes so I have to depend on the men folk in my life and thats just not always easy for me.

What I am looking forward to:
We go back to the doc on Monday for our 4D re-do attempt and are praying we get some good ones this time of her entire face and as much as we love that precious little hand, we hope that she keeps it out from in front of her face from 1:00-2:00 PM. :)

Also, super excited that we are having our maternity pics taken this Sunday!
I know the hubs is thrilled about this as well, but hopefully it will go smoothly since our first born will also be in attendance for the photo shoot and we all know by our weekly pics that Wrigley loves to have his picture taken!

Hollis' 1st headshots

Monday we went for Hollis' 1st (yes, I said 1st meaning, we will be going back for a 4D re-do in 2 weeks) 4D ultrasound!  It was so amazing to be able to see her moving her tiny little fingers around, opening and closing her eyes, yawning and even sticking her tongue out!

This was the first time that we have been able to see her as a her, as Hollis, b/c the last ultrasound we got at 19 weeks, we still didn't know if she was a he or a she yet, so that was pretty amazing to know we were looking at our daughter for the 1st time! :)
I may or may not have popped a tear...

As you read above, she was not super cooperative and apparently LOVES to have her hand in front of her face a.lot! We were able to get quite a few goods ones with some maneuvering and poking but the sweet ultrasound tech told us to come back in 2 weeks to see if we can get some full face shots and who are we to say no!

Proof that she does in fact have some hair-even though we aren't sure how thick it is

Hand up by her mouth, where it stays most of the time

Mouth open

opening her eyes

Yawning-apparently we were boring her :)

Tongue sticking out...

Both of her hands in front of her face...

And last but not least, my fav...peace sign!

Words can't describe how grateful we feel that we were able to see our little bundle and that everything looks to be perfect!
I have heard quite a few stories over the past week that have made me realize more than ever just how lucky we are!

We love you Miss Hollis Laine!!!
(and hope that you are slightly more cooperative next time!)

Our weekend

The hubs and I had a great weekend, granted they were polar opposites and in different states, but still a good weekend!

Thursday morning the hubs was up, dressed, packed and out the door before God woke up heading down to Orange Beach for their boys annual golf trip.
They get so excited each year-buying new equipment, new clothes, cleaning and organzing their golf bags and packing far in advance in anticipation for their guys trip.
I'm not sure if they are more excited about playing golf for 2 days straight without getting yelled at or just to be away from the wives and/or babies and getting drunk. Either way, I'm glad that they enjoy it so much and hope that this is a lifelong tradition for them. :)

Not all of them but-Mitch, Ben, Chad, OJ, Matt, Nick and Jay
the gangsta's (or so I was told via text)

My weekend was much needed and long anticipated, but in a different way.  I feel like we have been running nonstop for weeks now and I was finally able to relax.  It was wonderful to not have to be anywhere at any particular time and to not have to do anything. :)

My date for the weekend
He doesn't leave my side...
my bed buddy/bodyguard-he loves it when daddy is out of town b/c that means he gets to sleep in the bed :)
After catching up on all of my Keeping up with the Kardashians and Say Yes to the Dress episodes, I did venture 4 houses down the street on Saturday night to hang out with Jess, Amanda and Baylor for a pizza and PJ party. sorry, no pics
It was great to hang out and talk babies, boys and anything else we could think of.

Hope everyone's week is going well!

29 Weeks

Thanks Tiff for the shirt!

How far along:
29 weeks

Weight Gain:
1/2 lb this week, 16 1/2 lbs total

Sleep:
still good, but have been dying to sleep on my back a lot more lately-I guess you always want what you can't have b/c I've never been a back sleeper...

Best moment of the week:
Getting to see our Hollis in her 4-D ultrasound!
Granted, she was a little uncooperative (post to come), but it was still amazing to see her moving around.

Food Cravings:
Ramen noodles have been really good lately and fresh fruit.

Gender:
GIRL!!!!!

Movement:
Lots still and I love it!  During the 4-D ultrasound we were able to distinguish what body parts were where and even though she still has plenty of moving around to do, it was fun to know when I feel a certain little bump under my ribs that that is more than likely her feet jabbing me!

What I miss:
Pants that fit-def had my first fit this week about not having many options in the pants dept.  Shirts are not a problem really but the pants, those are an issue and I feel like I wear the same things every single week to work!

What I am looking forward to:
Looking forward to making more progress in the nursery. I have found quite a few things that I think will go great in there, but just need to bite the bullet and get to it!
So much pressure to amek sure everything looks perfect!

Overall, I am still feeling great!  The doc said that my iron levels were slightly low which is no surprise since my iron levels are always low.
Just need to step up on the steak dinners honey!

Living with Wrigley

Normally these Living with Wrigley segments are all fun and games and adorable Wrigley-isms that happen in our daily lives. So we feel that for all of the good things we share about living with Wrigley, we can't be completely honest unless we show you some of the not so good/cute/adorable moments with our big galoot!

This is what you get when you leave a Great Dane named Wrigley at home for 12+ hrs by himself (note: he is still out of his crate and roaming the house freely) and a plastic bag with a quart of paint in it...

Yes, that is our brand new carpet...
Yes, it goes all the way up to the ceiling...

In his defense, we did leave him for an abnormally long amount of time and normally that's not the case, but it was a long day and he just got restless.

He laid pretty low the rest of the weekend.  I guess redocorating takes a lot out of him. :)

He's lucky we love him...

8/8/12

Impromptu Improv date night

A while back the hubs and I saw where Jo Koy was coming to the comedy club here in Birmingham and we discussed buying tickets, but never did b/c well, life got in the way and we have a few things going on at the moment.
So when the hubs got an email reminder on Friday about his show, we decided to book a last minute date night to go see him!

For those of you unfamiliar with Jo Koy, he is a stand up comedian who regularly appears on Chelsea Lately and we are huge fans of that show and Jo, so we were super excited to see him live!

Obviously our waitress has some killer photog skills
also, note to self: make appt with Katie for a spray tan asap!
We had awesome seats right next to the sound booth and even had a brief convo with the opening act. :)

And the best part other than the show, which was hysterical and had me literally in tears most of the night....
Yep-We got to meet him!
He really was super nice in person and even congratulated us on having a little girl. :)

It was a late night, especially for this preggo (like didn't get home till after midnight), but such a fun date night and something different than a normal Friday night on the sofa at the Thompson house. :)
