Please pray!

Yesterday the state of Alabama was hit by a horrific line of storms and tornados that has caused major damage throughout the state. Tuscaloosa, Cullman, Fultondale, Pleasant Grove and Hackleburg are just a few of the cities that have been severely damaged by these storms.

I can not possibly imagine what you are going through.

I woke up yesterday morning to the hubs kissing my bye and tornado sirens.  I got up, got ready for work and by the time I left my house, it was beautiful outside-sunshine and all.  As I was driving to work, I soon realized that things weren't as great as I thought.

This is what 280 looked like yesterday morning
(don't worry mom, I was sitting in traffic when I took these, not moving!)

My work ended up being not having any power and we were quickly sent back home.  The hubs however was at work until almost midnight last night and will probably be working throughout the weekend as well.  Price you pay to work for the power company...

We had some more major storms later on last night and this is how Wrigley and I spent most of the evening...
You can tell he was real concerned, huh?!

Thankfully we were not directly effected by these storms, but my heart truly goes out to those that have lost their homes and/or loved ones.  My prayers are with you!

Birthday Celebrations and one too many glasses of champagne!

Last night we went to J. Clyde's in Southside to celebrate the 2 birthday girls!

They have some super yummy food-I got the BLT and the "T" is a fried green tomato-I die! :)  I think pretty much everything that everyone got was delish.
Miller, Bethany, Jess, Matt, Nick, Charlie, Ryan, Mitch, Yours Truly, Ashley, Angela and Burton
Afterwards, Jess and I decided that we weren't quite ready to go home so we drug the boys over to Blue Monkey for a little nightcap!
As you can tell from the title of this post, Jess and I took full advantage fo the $2 glasses of champagne and $5 Blue margaritas and are both paying for it dearly today but we had a blast!

Also I want to give a little shout out to Jess for being featured as a "Cat Lady Blogger" over at Skinny Runner's blog.  Way to go Jess for representing the Alabama girls!

Catch up

I feel like my days have run together the last few days and I'm just now catching up, so please forgive me for the random post you are about to encounter.

Last Friday the hubs Granny (his dad's mom)-Era Thompson- passed away.  It was not unexpected, we knew this was coming, but it was still a tremendous loss to the family, especially his grandfather with whom she had been married to for 60 years.  She had not been well for some time but always seemed to tough it out, but unfortunately she lost her battle, but with all of her loved ones with her in her final days.

Needless to say the birthday weekend plans did not go accordingly but we still managed to have a little fun.
That night we went to eat for the hubs birthday at Outback with my BIL, SIL and nephews.

Saturday we did some running around and then went to Matt and Jess' house for some Mexican dominos. We do this often and we love it!! :)
(and yes, I completely stole this pic off of Jess' blog, but I thought it was a cute pic-sue me!)

Sunday and Monday were the viewing/funeral days and like always leaves you meeting some very interesting people that you had no idea you were even related to (and some you wish you weren't), right Mitch?! :)

Thanks to everyone who sent the hubs/us your well wishes and condolences during this time...it really helped put a bright spot in Mitch's weekend to know that everyone was there for him and thinking about him! :).

On a different note, we are celebratign 2 friends birthdays tonight at J. Clyde's-Bethany, who's birthday was yesterday....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETHANY!

and Jess' birthday that is tomorrow...
 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS!
I LOVE BOTH OF YOU GIRLS TO DEATH AND CAN'T WAIT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU! :)

Happy Birthday Mitch!

Today my sweets turns 29 years old!
One more year till the "big one" honey!

I can't tell you how lucky I am to be able to experience another birthday with you.  You are such an amazing husband, a great daddy to Wrigley and an all around wonderful guy that deserves the world!  I love you so much and hope that we share many, many, many more birthdays together!

Also, you better enjoy this up coming year, since it will be your last in your 20's!  Just had to throw that in there!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITCH! :)
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Living with Wrigley 4

This is what happens when you leave a box of rolled coins in your livingroom floor and your Great Dane wants you to stay home and snuggie on the sofa instead...

We came up shy 4 quarters...

Weekend Wrap-up Mid-week

I try to keep this blog as light and lovely as possible but real at the same time, so instead of posting some "debbie downer" type posts b/c I am in a blah mood, I decided to wait unitl I was feelin' it and in a slightly better than blah mood.
 Moving on...

This past weekend was non-stop busy but super loaded with lots of friends, good weather and wedding festivities!  Friday night we met up with some buddies for some cold ones and live music on the patio at Cajun Steamer.  The weather was perfect and felt so good to just relax and enjoy!
Cute couple alert!

Saturday we went to my co-workers house in Cahaba Heights for a Crawfish boil.  They live right on the Cahaba River and it was beautiful!  I think Mitch wanted to move in immediately.
I failed miserably in the taking of the pictures category-we were too busy stuffing our faces with crawfish and enjoying the beautiful views!

Saturday night we went to Mere and Ben's house to celebrate the return of Mr. and Mrs. Burton!
This lovely couple slipped away to Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and got married on March 30th!
Congrats to you both!
Yours Truly with the beautiful bride!
Miller was so not interested...
The hubs with the happy groom!

Sunday I had a bridal tea for one of my dear friends Haley who is tying the knot in June.  Her and the future hubs live in Montgomery, AL, so it was obviously awesome to see her.
Pretty girl!
This is the only picture that I took from the shower, but I think I more than made up for my picture taking the night before. (I didn't even post half of the pictures I took b/c I figured anyone who was actually reading this far down has probably given up already, if you are still reading-thanks!!)

Lesson of the Day

If you find a really good deal on something there's probably a reason...

Just saying...

Also please excuse the horrible lighting that Old Navy provides...I'm a pale Irish chick, but not that pale!

Drug dog

Typing this post is a little bit more difficult than most-a Great Dane passed out on your lap is slightly more challenging...

but I'm not complaining a bit! I love my snugglie time with either of my boys anytime!

We picked little bit up this morning from losing his manhood and he is completely worn out.  He has really enjoyed his sofa (& pain meds!) today and his daddy and I have enjoyed laying around with him!

We are fully aware that we love him more than is really healthy, as I have said before but we are SO relieved that he is home with us now.  Our house is WAY to quiet without him here. :)

right before the dreaded doc visit

Sweet angel!

Chow Down Around Town-Fuego Cantina

Last night the girls met up at Fuego Cantine is 5 Points in Southside for $1 Tecate's, tacos and ubber yummy guacamole! We had a nice table in the corner to ourselves and had a great night!
I got the steak tacos with fried jalapenos on top-oh so good and the "hotness" goes away for the most part when you fry them!

This was a much needed girls night (I know I say that every time it seems like) but it really was this time.  We have been working at my granmother's house all week long and that along with day to day work stuff AND the fact that little bit had to be dropped off this morning for the "snip snip", the $1 Tecates (and Vegas bombs thanks to Brandy) were welcomed with open arms! :)

Erica, Jordan, Tammy, Mere, Ashley, Yours Truly, Bethany, Jess, Brandy, Mel
El Luchado is apparently a Mexian wrestler or something like that...I just thought the masks were kind of cool!

Thanks girls! As always I look forward to our next adventure!
