Ashley's Bachelorette Trip

Hey there! Sorry for the lack of posts lately but work has been crazy busy trying to catch up from being off for a few days! Sometimes it is just not worth it to be off b/c you have so much work waiting on you when you get back!

**Anyways, I forgot my USB cord to upload my pics from the weekend so I will have to do another post later with pictures.

This past weekend was definitely interesting to say the least...

22 girls + 2condos = drama!!

On the lighter side of things, it was great to see Ashley so happy to have all of her girls around...she is truly one of the sweetest girls in the world and I was so glad that I was able to be apart of this special time in her life! Thanks Ashley!

We started off the trip on Thursday night-we drove there after work and went to meet up with a few of the girls for a little while at a place called Baytown Wharf in Sandestin. Such a cute little place by the way!

Friday we hung out at the beach all day-thank God no oil, not yet at least! The weather was great-super hot but since there was no oil, definitely didn't want to complain about anything else! :) Friday night, we hung out in the condo and had Ashley's lingerie shower and just chilled out...much needed after a long, hot day on the beach. :)

Saturday was more of the same, just hanging out at the beach and making multiple trips up to the pool to cool off! Saturday night was the big night for Ashley to dress up like a fool and get the full bachelorette treatment! (hehe) All of the ladies dressed in black and sported bright blue feather boas and Ashley wore a fab blue dress and her white boa! We started out the evening at The Crab Trap (so yummy btw, I don't think I have ever gotten anything from there that was not superb) and then made our way over to Howl at the Moon, which is a cute little dueling piano bar with plenty of entertainment. We danced the night away until the wee hours of the morning and then called it a night (or morning)!

Our orginal plans were to stay until Monday but after a long weekend of sun and girls, we decided that it was time to head back to the Ham! I think all in all, we decided that we are all way too old to try to hang like we used to but so glad that we were able to celebrate this time with Ashley and SO glad to get back to my boys! I missed them like crazy!!!! Now its back to reality...

As for the Thompson Baby Watch 2010, today is the final day...my sis in law was induced this morning and we are anxiously waiting on our sweet baby nephew to arrive! I absolutely can't wait to meet him and watch him grow up! I will keep you updated on how they are doing and will have pictures ASAP! Have a good one! :)

Girls Trip!!!

This weekend we are making our way down to Destin, Fl to celebrate Ashley's bachelorette party! (Pray for no oil)! We are leaving tomorrow after work, and won't be back until Sunday or Monday of next week (depending on the oil situation).

Ashley is hands down one of the sweetest, funniest, and most beautiful girls I know and I could not be happier for her to have found her prince charming in Austin!

We are hoping that the weekend goes smoothly-with 24+ girls going, you can imagine the possible drama and drunken debacle this could turn out to be! I, personally am hoping for a drama-free trip to the beach with some of my besties and the bride to be with some great weather, nice refreshments :), and lots of fun memories with no oil, please!

On the negagtive side of things, I am leaving my 2 favorite boys here at home...

Even though the hubs keeps saying that he is going to be lonely and doesn't want me to go, I secretly think that he is kind of looking forward to having the house to himself without me making him fix something, clean something, lift soemthing heavy, or go somewhere with me! Don't get me wrong, I definitely think he will miss this face (I mean who wouldn't :)-just kidding, but it's my blog and I can brag how I want to!) but I hope that he has a good weekend and doesn't stress too much about what is going on in Florida!

Also, Thompson Baby Watch 2010 is still in full effect...the sis in law went to the doc yesterday and was only dialated 2cm-this is good b/c hopefully she will stay at this pace until I get back from my trip! I know that Julie will not be too thrilled about me wishing to prolong her pregnacy but oh well!

I hope that you all have a great rest of the week and a wonderful weekend! I will be back to the blog world on Tuesday. Mitch-if you are secretly reading this-I love you very much and promise to be good and call you! Enjoy your weekend without me honey-you don't get a whole lot of these! :)

Weekend Recap!

First off, my weekend started off fantastic because I came home to these...

Aren't they gorgeous!? Thank you to my wonderful, sweet hubby-I love you so much!!

On to the rest of our weekend...Friday night was date night in with the hubs-we just grilled out some delicious spare ribs, watched some tv, and hung out with Wrigs...a wonderful way to end such a crazy week.
On Saturday we went to Mitch's 10 year high school reunion (I told you we would end up going!) Anyways, it was held at a place called Above which is a bar on the rooftop of the Redmont Hotel here in Birmingham. It is possibly the worlds smallest bar on the inside but the views from the patio make it definitely worthwhile looking over all of downtown. We had a very good time (maybe even a little bit too much fun) but all in all I think the hubs is definitely glad that we went. You're welcome honey for twisting your arm! Here are some more pics from our evening...

He really did enjoy himself :)

These boys go way back-Andy, Justin and the hubs

The ladies having a little bit of fun too!(Maria and Chad crashed the reunion later and we had so much fun)

Not sure what I was doing with my hand...

And as we all know, all good things must come to an end (OJ REALLY enjoyed himself :))

Sorry for the picture overload but some of these are just too good to not document! :)
Also I want to wish my Pop a Happy Belated Fathers Day! I love you so very much and don't know what I would do with out you! You are the best Pop a girl could ask for! You always go above and beyond for everyone and even though we don't tell you all of the time, we appreciate you more than you will ever know!

We are still on the Thompson Baby Watch 2010...no baby nephew yet, but please cross your fingers that he comes before this weekend. I am going out of town for a girls trip and definitely do NOT want to miss the birth of my nephew! Keep praying!

TGIF!!!

Yay it's Friday!!!!

I don't know about you but this day could not come soon enough! I know that we just got back from vacation, but I tell you, the week that you come back is brutal! It has taken me all week to get back into my normal routine. Just to think that this time last week, we were laying out in the middle of the ocean, soaking up the rays, and enjoying a refreshing strawberry daquiri-oh the life! :) Anyways, back to reality...

This weekend could end up going one of two ways: 1)lazy, uneventful, and relaxing...sitting on the couch and enjoying doing absolutely nothing at all (which by the way I am totally ok with) or 2) we could possibly be celebrating the arrival of our second nephew! My sis in law is preggo and the doctors think it is a strong possibility that she could have the little guy sometime this weekend...exciting!

Also, the hubs is having his 10 year highschool reunion on Saturday (I know honey, you are getting older, but I still love you and your gray hair :))...he has been saying that he is not going, but I have a hunch that last minute he will change his mind. :) We shall see what the weekend has in store for us soon enough.

And just because I don't want to start off my blogging debut with a pictureless blog...

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Wrigley!

I want to introduce you to the love of our lives! :)

He is a Great Dane and just turned a year old in May. I know most of you are probably thinking we are crazy people for having such a large dog, especailly since we do not live in a large house (at all). Well let me be the first to tell you that they are the best dogs! Now, I come from a family of whatever pet God wants you to have, he will give you-meaning we have always had strays and never really believed in buying an animal when there are so many out there that need a home. Very true, but when the hubs and I laid our eyes on our little man(this drives Jess crazy that we call him this :)), we knew he was made for us!

I don't think it is possible to love him anymore than we do! He is without a doubt the sweetest, smartest (Mitch will argue this some days), and most loving babe in the world.

I wanted to go ahead and introduce you to him now, because I have a feeling he will be making a lot of appearances here on the blog since he pretty much consumes most of our lives!

Obviously this was quite a few months ago, but I love this picture of him in his jacket-Mitch is not a fan btw! :)

This was him the other night after he had played all day

On his first birthday (sorry I had to add these but didn't have my camera when I did this post yesterday) :)

Bahamas Bound and The End!

Our next stop after leaving Key West was to Nassau, Bahamas. We didn't plan on doing any excursions...just pick up a few cold beverages, lay on a beautiful beach all day and soak up the rays and that is pretty much what we did.

After getting off of the ship, we found ourselves a taxi and made our way into town. I must say that we were all a little suprised at how sketchy the city was and how crazy the people drive(we seriously thought we were going to die at least a half a dozen times for real!)

I think all was forgotten once we made it to sand, granted it was a pretty beach with crystal clear water, but Jamaica definitely has them beat. :) Our taxi driver took us to Paradise Island to a beach called Cabbage Beach and this is where we stayed the rest of the day.

The hubs and I in front of our ship about to get back on board

The next day was our last, so we spent the day just relaxing by the pool and taking it all in. We absolutely had a blast on our cruise and couldn't have picked 2 couples that we could have had more fun with! Thanks to all of you for making our first cruise such a memorable and fun experience! We will definitely be going on another cruise in the future!

This was the whole group with our pool boy Kadek-he was amazing!!!

At dinner the last night

Key West

On Wednesday we stopped at our first port in Key West for the day. We all decided to sign up for the Pub Crawl, which takes you to 5 of the best pubs in Key West and you get a free drink of your choice at each and a t-shirt.

Our tour guides name was Brian and he made the whole experience worth while...he was so funny and entertaining! (this was obviously not his first pub crawl for sure)He didn't take us to any of the well-known pubs like Sloppy Joe's or Margaritaville, instead he took us the where the locals go and the little hole in the wall places.

First pub we visited was a place called Durty Harry's. The specialty drink there was called a Caribbean Breeze-it was very yummy but also very strong. Did I mention that the Pub Crawl started at 10AM?! Oh yes, it was a long day!

Next, we went to a place called the Flying Monkey and they had the BEST strawberry daiquiri I have ever had in my life!

We stopped by a place called Schooner Wharf for a refreshing beverage and then it was on to the contest of the day...the conch blowing competition!

I don't have a picture of the actual contest but Brian said that whoever could blow his conch (as in conch shell for those of you whose minds are in the gutter)would win his beads. Well guess who won...yes you guessed it-the hubs won!!!! He's the best conch blower in town! (I know he will be pleased to know that this is how he made the blog today)!

Finally we stopped at the last 2 places, The Lazy Gecko for a yummy Rum Runner and Ricks to finish up the afternoon.

Mile Marker 0...kinda cool!

We walked around a little bit to see some more of this cute town and then it was time to get back on board. Overall, Key West was a great place to visit...I think we all decided that we want to go back on our next trip for sure. The next day we made our way over to the Bahamas, but that will have to wait for the next post!
