Wrigley has some news...

Yes, Baby Thompson will be making his/her arrival October 28th!!!!!
We are almost 14 weeks now and are beyond thrilled to meet our precious Sweet Pea and could not feel more blessed!
Mitch has been bouncing off of the walls with excitement since the day we found out and hasn't stopped yet.  I, however, think that I am still in shock most days! :)
Its just crazy to think that its is really happening to us! :)

So, time for a little background on how we found out about our tiny blessing...

Back in February I went to my doc for my fun annual appointment.
I knew I was late, but that was not completely out of the norm since I was so irregular since we began trying. But I figured if there was anything I needed to know (ie I'm pregnant) they would tell me since they run all kinds of tests anyways.

Well, I go through my appointment-probably the fastest I have ever gotten through there-only to be written another prescription for prenatal vitamins and sent on my way hoping that the next time he sees me I am nauseous-Thanks Doc!

After calling Mitch and my mom crying b/c I felt so pushed aside and unimportant, I followed my mom's advice and called the nurse back, b/c as she says "sometimes it's just better to talk to a woman".  The nurse adviced me after hearing some of my background info to take a test first thing in the morning and we would go from there-->
if it's postive=hooray
if its negative=we had a plan to get me on the right track.

I wake up the next morning (Fat Tuesday-I have no idea why I remember that detail) and as I glance over not expecting to see anything major, I see this:

can't get the pic to rotate

Yep, positive!
Well at this point, the hubs is already at work, so I can't very well call him and tell him over the phone, so I'm forced to go about my normal, every day routine like there is absolutely nothing different than there was the day before...only this day I have a baby in my belly! :)
Hardest.day.ever!

So I decide that I will tell Mitch when he gets home from work.  I wasn't quite sure how I was going to tell him b/c I was a little batty by the end of the day (which is why there is a lack of pics to document) but I knew that I wanted to have Wrigley incorporated into the surprise.

I bought a baby rattle and tied the note to his collar and when Mitch walked in the door Wrigley greeted him with our wonderful news!
He was shocked and hasn't stopped grinning since!

Chow Down Around Town-Bettola

Wow, haven't done one of these in a while...I've unfortunately missed the last 2 Chow Down nights and have thoroughly missed them...it was good to be back!
We went to Bettola in Pepper Place last night to enjoy some yummy Italian goodies and the wonderful weather while, sitting on the patio at probably the world's largest table ever! :)

(Left-right:Ashley, Kristin, Yours Truly, Tammy, Mere, Phoenix, Mel, Alaina, Sam, Jess, Bethany and Grelier)
Our waitress wasn't exactly Mrs. Personality or the best picture taker, but this one will have to to...

The food was pretty yummy-true Italian rather than the "Americanized Italian" I think most are used to (I for sure am), but it was good.  The menu however needed some translations along the way, but we eventually all figured it all.

We had a great crowd and I was so glad that Jess was such a trooper and made it out for one last Chow Down before Baylor arrives...on Monday!
Yes, you read that right, she came out and rocked a girls night out ready to give birth at any moment-one of the many reasons I love her!

This girls night was also perfectly timed with the hubs going out of town for the weekend for Patrick's bachelor party...which means I got a full tummy, went home and curled into bed with my pup!

Living With Wrigley-One tired pup

It is always amazing to me how Wrigley's energy level goes from one extreme to the next.
One minute he is boucing off the walls, jumping on and off of our bed ripping the sheets off and the next minute, he is so exhausted he can barely keep his little baby head up, scared he is going to miss out on something fun and exciting! :)

Here is one of those moments...

You're getting sleepy...

very sleepy...

aanndd he's out! :)

Safe to say he slept for the rest of the afternoon in almost that exact same position.  :)
It's crazy how much we love him!

Low key birthday fun

Last Thursday night we decided to have a little impromptu girls dinner on the patio at Jackson's since the weather has been so great lately. (Of course as I type this post, it's like 40 degrees out now, but whatever, that's beside the point)

We celebrated Bethany's birthday which was on Friday (the 20th) and Jess' upcoming birthday which was Sunday (the 22nd).  I even racked up on a few belated birthday gifts, so I considered it a win! Thanks again ladies btw. ;) We enjoyed some much needed girl talk and it was great!

The momma's!

The (preggo) birthday girls!

Also looking forward to this upcoming Thursday night for yet another girls night-our monthly Chow Down Around Town since I have unfortunately missed the last 2.  Also since the hubs is leaving to go on a bachelor party on Thursday, I'm thinking its perfect timing! :)

Hope you lovelies have a wonderful week!

30 Blows!

Look at me, blogger who comes back from the dead and posts on a Monday! Who am I? :)

Well, we had a wonderful weekend of celebrations, but the biggest one was most certainly my sweet hubby turning 30 yesterday!

Mitchell-
I can't believe that when we first got together you were that skinny guy with that horrible turtleneck just visiting Auburn that football weekend and here you are as a grown, mature, (30 year old) loving husband (and dressing much more sexy and stylish).  I love the man you have become and have loved watching grow into such an amazing and successful man and love of my life.  You truly make every day an adventure and I look forward to "doing" life with you for another decade (or 5)!
I love you honey!
Happy Birthday!!!!!!

We started out his birthday with some delish Joel's (those of you who are unfortunate enough to have never experienced this delightful meat and veggies place with the best sweet tea ever, I'm very sorry) and some running about town and finished the night homemade calzones with my family and Mrs. Patti B's famous Banana Pudding!

Could the day get much better?! I think not.!
The hubs would probably argue that and throw in a round of golf, but he isn't writing this blog, so I can tell it how I want! :)

Saturday night our friends all met at La Cocina Superior in Brookwood for a surprise birthday party for one of our other friends Jay, who also turned 30 last weekend.  We had a huge party on the patio in the most perfect weather and enjoyed some yummy food.  I feel like I haven't seen everyone in so long, so it was good to hang out with everyone!

Look at those baby blues!

It was a fun-filled weekend and I look forward to having more weekends like this on the patios enjoying life!  Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Alive and Well!

You will be happy to know that yes, I am in deed alive and kicking-just took a little blogging hiatus for a few. But, alas, I'm back and what better way to update you all on our ubber exciting lives and whats been happening than bullet points! :) Yay!

-Let's see, when I fell off the face of the earth last updated the ole blog, I was mere days away from celebrating what I like to call my last birthday-the big 2-9!  I'm not a huge fan of big to-do's when it comes to my birthday and never have been, even as a wee-one, so we decided to just have a few of our buddies go to La Paz for some yummy Mexican (because apparently that is all I ever want for my birthday)!  Angela, Burton and baby Mattox joined us, but unfortunately had to leave before I decided to document the evening b/c apparently Mattox is not a fan of Mexican (or crowds). :) But either way, I was really glad that they were able to make it out!

-We spent some time with the nephews, who I believe get cuter every time we see them!

Hunter in his usual position as of late...he is obsessed with playing games on his ipod/ipad thing<--can you tell I'm so with the times?! :)
Cohen-of course it is almost impossible to get a clear picture of this 20 month old running around crazy, so these are the best I could get.
Don't you just want to bite those cheeks?! No, just me?!

-Wrigley is still the same sweet bubby as always and I plan on doing a post on him soon just b/c I'm an obsessed mom and have a lot of pictures from my phone of him that I want to share!
