Chow Down Around Town-Black Market

Wow, haven't done one of these in a minute! I guess with holidays, and oh wait, having a baby, I've maybe missed a few of these, so it was good to be back!

Last Thursday we headed to 5 Points to Black Market for some food, drinks and a littel trivia (and later on maybe a little booty shakin' as well!)

We had a good group this time around-a lot of our good friends were able to make it which makes it even more fun to catch up with everyone you don't get to see every week!

Phoenix and I spilt a burger (like we always do) and it was yummy! The fries never stood a chance with the 2 of us!  We also enjoyed a few Blue Moons, which only makes me long for a patio and spring weather even more!

Even though it was proven to us all that we are no longer young and can not quite "hang" like we used to as we all crawled into work the next morning, it was a ton of fun! Oh and my legs were so sore the next day from "droppin' it like it's hot"!

Faces of Hollis

While I was still on maternity leave (oh how I miss those days), I may have taken a few pictures of Hollis.  :)I snapped this series of pics while she was stretching and playing on the sofa one day and I love them all. She cracks me up!

Mere's 30th

So I am literally a month behind on this post but wanted to document b/c we had such a great time for Mere's big 3-0!

It was the first time that we were able to get pretty much all of our friends together for a night out.  No one preggo and all the parents had babysitters-it was great to be able to just let loose for a few hours and have fun!

We all met up at Slice in Lakeview for dinner and drinks and followed with a little dance party at Tin Roof.  The weather was perfect (and abnormal for a January night) so we sat on the patio of slice and the band was outside at Tin Roof.

This mama's head was a little fuzzy the next morning but it was totally worth it!

Busy Weekend

I truly don't think that we sat down this entire weekend...we were too busy celebrating birthdays and running around crazy!

Friday night, we surprised one of my besties, Tiff with a happy.30th.birthday.even.though.your.birthday.isn't.until.July party at Trio's in Trussville! :) 

Her mom and sister's wanted to have a celebration for Tiff's 30th in February since they won't be coming home again until the fall and she won't be here to celebrate the big 3-0 with all of her friends and fam.  It was such a good surprise (b/c frankly who expects a birthdya party in February when your birthday is in July :)) and I'm so glad that we got to be a part of it.

Saturday we were up bright and early (7am-thank you Hollis) to run some quick errands and get ready for Sawyer's 3rd Birthday party that evening!

I failed at taking any good pics at the party, but of course with every event with this precious family, the decorations and details were pure perfection!  The theme was choo choo trains and the kids loved it.  I lvoed the blonde oreo's, but that's beside the point. :)

Sunday we played general contractors/day laborers at my parents house cleaning up and getting ready for the next step in the rebuild.  I also recognize that I haven't updated on my parents house in a while, but plan on doing that soon.  The house looks so amaze-balls!!

So, by the time we left my parents house, got home, got everyone bathed, did laundry for the week and got ready for bed, this mama needed a weekend to recover from her weekend! Hoping this upcoming weekend has a lot of snuggle time on the sofa on the agenda! :)

Big brother Wrigley

Not to worry, we haven't forgotten about our first born...

Wrigley is so good with his new little sister and is very interested in everything we do to/with her!

He loves playtime on the floor, he always "helps" us change her diapers and give her baths and he is very protective of Hollis.  When she was brand new, he would get very upset when she would cry, but now I think not only is he used to her cries but she is also used to his barks-she doens't flinch!

 

They missed daddy!

She was only a little over a week old in these pictures, but I love how gentle he was/is with her.  It's like he knows that she is a baby and you have to be careful. :)

I'm pretty sure some people are having a heart attack thinking we are crazy for laying our newborn up against a 150lb dog, but we 110% trust/know him and his personality and know that its just not in his nature to do anything to hurt her. Plus its not like we leave her unattended with him... :)


I love our little family so much and can not wait to watch Wrigley and Hollis grow up together.  They are going to be the best of buddies!

Hollis-2 Months

Hollis had her 2 month appointment on January 11th and here were her stats:

HC-15 1/2 in

Wt.-11.5 lbs (30th percentile)

Ht.-22 in. (10th percentile)

Just before little bit had to get 4 shots in her chunky little thighs-I think we both needed a drink after this visit but there was plenty of cuddling afterwards to make up for it! :)
